We were excited to be attending Tealium’s user conference, Digital Velocity
, again this year. We were even more stoked to be presenting at the conference to help lead others toward better data ownership. For those of you who couldn’t be there, I want to share my favorite parts of the conference with a few key takeaways.
So what do San Diego, the Hard Rock Hotel, and candied bacon have in common? The Digital Velocity conference, it would seem! If you were following on social media, you probably saw many mentions and images of candied bacon linked to #DigitalVelocity2015 – and really, how else would you throw a conference? Bacon makes everything better.
The first official day of DV was an action-packed event full of good keynotes, reveals and break-out sessions. The keynote address was focused on ‘Marketing Technology as Force Multiplier & Competitive Advantage’, essentially covering the topic of the evolution of marketing. As a company that has been in the multi-channel analytics space since 2002, we can attest to the shift in marketing and analytics. One of my favorite speakers was Jeff Lunsford, CEO of Tealium - his energy and passion was evident as he spoke.
Tealium has been one of our top partners and we’ve achieved success with many mutual customers across Tealium IQ and AudienceStream and as a result, we were kindly asked to speak on one of their expert panels. Our CEO, Bill Bruno, shared his knowledge and thoughts on the panel - Rethinking DMP Use Cases: First Party vs. Third-Party Data
. It was a lively panel and each panelist brought their own personality and expertise to the topic. In fact, when asked a question, Bill was asked to answer it in the likeness of WWE great Hulk Hogan. It was one of the more engaging panels based upon attendee feedback throughout the event. The conference gave me a chance to network with all of our attending partners as well as meet new & existing clients. As our Solutions Consultant – North America, I look forward to hitting the road and seeing people face-to-face. All the breaks were held in the sponsors room, which was a great place to network and knowledge share as well. After a few more breakout sessions, including a very entertaining one called ‘Couple’s Therapy – Bridging the Gap Between Marketing & IT,’ Digital Velocity capped off the evening with a fun dinner and band at a hot spot in San Diego called, Fluxx.
Needless to say, the next day I started out a bit slow, but Tealium had that covered by providing several ways to energize your day… bacon and donuts. But really, the innovation they showcased in their Product Roadmap was enough to keep me energized. Bottom line, it’s easy to see that Tealium is listening to their customers and is continuing to develop new products that are innovative and provide clear solutions for data ownership and other common roadblocks faced by marketers. I’m looking forward to what’s in store in 2015 for our partnership and can’t wait to see how they top this next year!
